This project is located in our two parishes of Andhra Pradesh, Bala Yesu Franciscan parish, Dondapudi and St. Maximilian Kolbe Franciscan parish, Christianpet and more than twenty-five villages attached to them. These two parishes are away from each other and the people are very poor and illiterate. Christianpet is in the outskirts of the city of Vijayawada and the people are not all daily workers frequenting to the town for work and most them find work easily. So now, they have the milking buffaloes and they sell the milk in the town and get daily earning for the whole family.

This is a women oriented project. When the women are empowered and strengthened, the family will be saved. They also take good care of the family and save the money for the welfare of the family. There is constant follow up from the part of the parish leaders who coordinate the whole group of the villages and collect the monthly deposit. The beneficiaries have to remit two percentage of their monthly income to a fund instituted for continuing this project. When we will have sufficient money to give, we buy more buffaloes. The parish leaders will select other families deserving and donate them. Besides, we are trying to educate them to save money by depositing in the village bank.
