A New Home of Prayer and Fraternity

St. Peter Franciscan Ashram Joyfully Blessed and Inaugurated at Gajwel

Gajwel, January 24, 2026: Expanding its spiritual presence and mission in Telangana, the newly constructed St. Peter Franciscan Ashram, beautifully situated on Toopran Road, Gajwel, was officially blessed and inaugurated on January 24, 2026, at 5:30 PM. The new ashram is envisioned as a vibrant spiritual centre dedicated to prayer, Franciscan fraternity, and service to the people.


The solemn blessing of the Ashram was officiated by His Eminence Cardinal Anthony Poola, Metropolitan Archbishop of Hyderabad. The inauguration ceremony was gracefully led by Rev. Fr. Michael Earaly, OFM Conv., Minister Provincial. Adding to the joy and significance of the occasion was the esteemed presence of Rev. Fr. Giuseppe Myoungjin Park, OFM Conv., Assistant General for the FAMC.


The memorable celebration brought together many members of the Franciscan community, including Rev. Fr. Saviour Karamvelil, OFM Conv. (Guardian), Rev. Fr. Felix Kandathinkara, OFM Conv., and Rev. Fr. Victor Pallipadan, OFM Conv. Friars, local faithful, and well-wishers united in a profound spirit of thanksgiving to God for this new foundation, praying that it will richly strengthen the Franciscan mission in the region.
