Joyful Welcome for Newly Anointed Priests

Fr. Madan and Fr. Saroj begin their ministry with a thanksgiving Mass, deep reflections on God’s mercy, and a warm gathering of fraternal support.

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh: Embodying the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi’s prayer, “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,” the community of St. Joseph of Cupertino Franciscan Ashram joyfully welcomed newly anointed priests, Fr. Madan and Fr. Saroj, with a day of heartfelt prayer and fraternal fellowship.

The welcoming events commenced with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Madan. Marking his first Mass with the community, it was offered in thanksgiving to God while earnestly seeking His divine guidance and blessings for the ministry entrusted to him within the fraternity. During the Eucharistic celebration, Fr. Saroj delivered a moving homily reflecting on the Gospel parable of the Prodigal Son. He spoke eloquently about the boundless mercy and unconditional love of God the Father, who always welcomes His children with open arms. Furthermore, he encouraged the friars to remain deeply rooted in humility, reconciliation, and trust in God’s forgiving love.

In the evening, the spirit of brotherhood continued as the community gathered once again. The Delegate Superior, along with several priests from various communities, joined the gathering to share their words of encouragement and unwavering support for the newly welcomed priests.

The occasion concluded with a beautiful moment of joyful fraternity and interaction among the friars, officially marking the beginning of a new chapter of service and collaboration within the community. As the fraternity moves forward together, they seek the intercession of their patrons for the two priests, praying that their presence will bring renewed energy, wisdom, and peace to the community and to all whom they encounter.
