Militia Immaculatae Embarks on a Nine-Church Lenten Pilgrimage
Thirty-seven members, guided by Fr. Stanley Panelikudy, undertake a day-long journey of prayer and devotion across prominent shrines.
Karukutty - March 14, 2026: The members of the Militia Immaculatae from Karukutty organized a profoundly meaningful Lenten Pilgrimage on March 14. Guided by their Spiritual Assistant, Fr. Stanley Panelikudy, thirty-seven dedicated members participated in the spiritual journey. The day-long pilgrimage commenced at 8:00 a.m. and concluded peacefully at 10:00 p.m., as the pilgrims returned home after a fulfilling day of prayerful travel.
Observing the solemn Lenten season in a spirit of deep devotion and reflection, the pilgrims engaged in continuous spiritual practices throughout their journey. Their travels were beautifully marked by the communal recitation of the Rosary, chaplets, various prayers, and moments of quiet spiritual meditation.
The extensive pilgrimage route included devout visits to nine significant churches and shrines across the region. The group visited St. George Church Edappally, St. Joseph Church Kannamaly, Velankanni Matha Church Chellanam, Christ the King Church Thankey, St. Sebastian Church Arthunkal, Our Lady of Dolours Church Pookkavu, St. Thomas Church Thumpoly, St. Mary’s Basilica Alappuzha, and the Kreupasanam Marian Shrine.
This carefully organized pilgrimage provided all participants with a valuable opportunity to deepen their Lenten spiritual journey. It successfully strengthened their faith through the power of communal prayer and a shared, heartfelt devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
