Solemn Profession of Nine Friars
A Joyful Celebration of Faith and Perpetual Commitment
May 2, 2026, Karukutty: In a joyful celebration of faith and commitment, the St. Maximilian Kolbe Province of the Conventual Franciscans witnessed the Solemn Profession of Nine Friars at Assisi Shanthi Kendra, Karukutty.
During the Holy Mass presided over by Very Rev. Fr. Michael Earaly, OFM Conv., Minister Provincial, the friars made their perpetual commitment to live the Gospel according to the Rule of St. Francis for the rest of their lives.
The friars who made their Solemn Profession are Joyal Cheppukalayil (John Paul), Belgin Chathamkandathil (Ulahannan), Albin Moolan (Varghese), Ison Ooroth (Isahak), Hyjit Nazhiyampara (Varghese), Shikhil Chanjickal (Markose), Jomon Olickal (Joseph), Alosh Marattukalam (Antony), and Akhil Ambattuvalloppalliyil (Mathew).
By their perpetual profession, these friars have freely dedicated their entire lives to God in the Franciscan way of life, committing themselves to prayer, fraternity, and apostolic service. The Province rejoices in their generous response to God’s call and prays that they may remain faithful witnesses of the Gospel.
