Youfra Karukutty’s Christmas and New Year Festivities

Celebrating Faith, Fellowship, and the Dawn of 2026

Assisi Shanthi Kendra  – December 2025 to January 2026: The youth of Youfra Karukutty, in vibrant collaboration with the Assisi Shanthi Kendra community, orchestrated a series of festive celebrations to mark the conclusion of 2025 and the joyful dawn of the New Year.

Throughout the Christmas octave, the young members gathered each evening at the ASK premises, channeling their creativity and devotion into the construction of a magnificent Nativity Crib near the church. This artistic endeavor served as a beautiful visual centerpiece for the season, drawing the community together in reflection and joy. On Christmas Eve, the youth organized a spirited fundraising event featuring traditional Christmas games, providing an engaging platform for people to experience communal fellowship while supporting a noble cause.

The celebrations seamlessly transitioned into the New Year with a series of initiatives led by Fr. Senet Kanjiraparambil and the Youfra coordinators. Most notably, this included the launch of a "Gift Coupon" drive featuring an array of attractive prizes. The culmination of this initiative took place during a public New Year’s gala, where the much-anticipated lucky draw was conducted. The event was gracefully attended by Rev. Fr. Michael Earaly, Minister Provincial, and Fr. Alphonse Vazhappanady, Guardian, alongside the entire ASK fraternity.

A memorable highlight of the evening was the traditional ceremony of "burning the Old Man" (Santa), symbolically casting away the past to welcome the promise and hope of 2026. The atmosphere was one of profound unity, as visitors and youth alike shared in a spirit of mutual love and encouragement. This festive season not only celebrated important liturgical milestones but also powerfully reaffirmed the community's commitment to supporting the endeavors of its young people, fostering a lasting legacy of service and solidarity.
