Priestly Ordinations of Two Conventual Franciscan Friars
St. Maximilian Kolbe Province Celebrates New Priests During the Jubilee Year 2026
The St. Maximilian Kolbe Province of the Conventual Franciscans celebrated with profound gratitude two priestly ordinations during the Jubilee Year 2026.
On April 20, 2026, Rev. Dn. Anto Cheppukalayil, OFM Conv., was ordained to the Ministerial Priesthood by Bishop George Njaralakatt, Bishop Emeritus of Tellicherry, at St. Francis Assisi Church, Nattakkal. The celebration was followed by his First Holy Qurbana, attended by family members, friars, clergy, religious, and faithful.
Subsequently, on May 14, 2026, Rev. Dn. Bibin Nallukunel, OFM Conv., received priestly ordination through the laying on of hands and the prayer of consecration by Mar John Nellikunnel, Bishop of Idukki, at St. Thomas Forane Church, Thankamany. His First Holy Qurbana was celebrated with great devotion and thanksgiving.
These ordinations are a source of immense joy for the Province and the Church. The newly ordained priests are called to continue the mission of Christ and the Franciscan charism through the proclamation of the Gospel, celebration of the sacraments, and service to God’s people.
The Province offers heartfelt congratulations to Fr. Anto Cheppukalayil and Fr. Bibin Nallukunel and assures them of continued prayers as they begin their priestly ministry.
