Franciscan Reconciliation Retreats (FRR)

A Journey of Mercy through Pullur and Neerikod

Assisi Shanthi Kendra – December 2025: During the sacred season of the Christmas fast, the Franciscan Reconciliation Retreat Team conducted two profound spiritual retreats at St. Xavier’s Church, Pullur, and St. Sebastian’s Church, Neerikod. Drawing upon the collective strength of friars from various friaries across Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the team engaged in an extensive outreach ministry, visiting approximately 700 families across both parishes. These visitations served as a living testament to the Franciscan spirit of minoritash and penance, offering parishioners a tangible encounter with divine mercy and communal reconciliation.

The retreats functioned as a powerful channel of conversion, specifically reaching out to those who had distanced themselves from the sacramental life of the Church or faced estrangement within their domestic circles. Under the visionary leadership of Fr. Elias, Director of the FRR, a cohort of gifted preachers—including Fr. Rojo, Fr. Sinto, Fr. Senet, and Fr. Martin—dedicated themselves to the service of the People of God. Through eloquent preaching and compassionate pastoral counseling, they guided the faithful toward a path of sincere repentance, mending relationships with God, their families, and their neighbors.

The success of this mission was a result of seamless fraternal collaboration. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Provincial Team and the Guardians of the various friaries for their generosity in seconding their friars to this vital ministry. Their support ensured that the FRR remains a beacon of hope and a catalyst for spiritual renewal within the heart of the parish communities.
