The Deacons' Parents Meeting at ASK

Nurturing the Roots of Vocation and Fraternal Solidarity

Assisi Shanthi Kendra (ASK) – December 4, 2025: On December 4th, 2025, Assisi Shanthi Kendra played host to a poignant and significant gathering for the parents of the deacons slated for ordination this year. This day-long program served as a spiritual and organizational cornerstone, preparing the families for the sacred transition their sons are about to undertake.

The morning commenced with an enriching spiritual session led by Fr. Alphonse Vazhappanady, the Guardian of ASK, whose reflections provided the parents with a deeper theological understanding of the vocation of the priesthood and the vital role of the family in sustaining a life of service.

The spiritual nourishment was followed by a pivotal consultative meeting with the Michael Earaly Minister Provincial, where the intricate details of the upcoming ordination ceremonies were discussed. This session ensured that all logistical arrangements and liturgical requirements were clearly outlined, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and preparation. Beyond the formal agenda, the day emerged as a beautiful occasion for the parents to experience a sense of fraternal solidarity, allowing them to exchange stories and share their mutual joy and devotion. Following a communal lunch and a concluding afternoon tea, the families departed for their homes, fortified by the spirit of fellowship and the collective anticipation of the grace to come.
