Nine Brothers Officially Welcomed into the Pre-Novitiate Stage
17 May 2026: A solemn and grace-filled ceremony at 9:00 AM marked the official entry of nine brothers into the Pre-Novitiate stage of formation. The induction ceremony was led by Fr. Alphonse Vazhappanady, OFM Conv. (Vicar Provincial), who served as the main celebrant. Joining him in the sacred sanctuary were Fr. Ferdinand, OFM Conv. (Superior), Fr. Justin Palamattath, OFM Conv. (Rector), and Fr. Jibin Edappulavan, OFM Conv. (Vice Rector), who co-celebrated the event and offered their blessings to the new candidates.
The nine brothers who took this significant step closer to Franciscan religious life are: Bro. Prasad Richard, Bro. Tobin Thomas, Bro. Midhun M.J., Bro. Kunal Ritha, Bro. Jefin Joshy, Bro. Joyal Vinoy, Bro. Nabin Mathew, Bro. Martin K.B., and Bro. Nelson Shiju.
The traditional Tau cross, the cherished symbol of Franciscan identity and devotion, was solemnly blessed by the main celebrant. In a moving moment of commitment, the blessed Tau was then individually placed around the neck of each brother, marking their official investiture and welcoming them into the Pre-Novitiate.
The community, along with the formation team, extended their prayerful wishes to the nine brothers as they begin this vital period of discernment, spiritual growth, and fraternity.
