Kerala Jubilee Pilgrimage of YOUFRA Christianpet
Youth Embark on a Five-Day Journey of Faith, Fraternity, and Franciscan Joy
June 2026, Coimbatore: As part of the Jubilee Year commemorating the 800th anniversary of the passing of St. Francis of Assisi, the members of YOUFRA Christianpet organized a five-day pilgrimage to Kerala. The pilgrimage was undertaken with the guidance and accompaniment of Rev. Fr. Jain Kottukapally OFM.
The journey was a spiritually enriching experience for all the participants. During the pilgrimage, the youth visited various churches and holy places across Kerala, spending time in prayer, reflection, and fellowship. A special spiritual session was conducted by Rev. Fr. Michael, Minister Provincial, who inspired the youth with reflections on the life, mission, and Franciscan spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi.
As pilgrims of hope during this Jubilee Year, the youth participated in prayers and devotions to obtain the Jubilee Indulgence. The pilgrimage also provided an opportunity to deepen their faith and strengthen their commitment to Christian and Franciscan values.
In a spirit of charity and solidarity, the youth made small financial contributions to support various social service ministries. This gesture reflected the Franciscan ideals of compassion, service, and care for those in need.
Throughout the five-day journey, the participants experienced genuine Franciscan joy, fraternity, and spiritual renewal. The pilgrimage fostered stronger bonds among the youth and encouraged them to live out the Gospel values exemplified by St. Francis of Assisi.
