Diaconate Ordination and Institution of Ministries

Friars Martin, Akhil, and Jackson take significant steps in ecclesial formation at Edappally.

 

Edappally, Kerala - December 22, 2025: For St. Francis Friary, it was a moment of profound joy and thanksgiving as three friars studying in the friary took significant steps in their ecclesial formation, with one being ordained to the Diaconate and two others being instituted into ministries, during a solemn celebration held at the Generalate of the Vincentian Congregation, Edappally, on Sunday, December 22, at 9:30 a.m.

 

The celebration began with a solemn procession, during which the brothers reverently carried the vestments of the ministries and order they were to receive, symbolizing their readiness to serve the Church and religious life. During the celebration, Friar Martin Palliyadiyil was ordained to the Diaconate, while Friar Akhil Ambattuvallopalliyil was instituted as Lectorate and Acolyte, and Friar Jackson was instituted as Lectorate, together with other Vincentian brothers.

 

The sacred rites were conferred by His Excellency, the Most Reverend Bishop Tony Neelankavil, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Thrissur, in the gracious presence of the Very Reverend Minister Provincial, Fr. Michael Earaly. The celebration was marked by prayer, reverence, and fraternal joy, as the friars renewed their commitment to the Church through faithful service of the Word, the altar, and the People of God.

 

The celebration concluded with a solemn fraternal lunch, joyfully shared by the Vincentian Community in a spirit of thanksgiving and brotherhood.
