Election of the Regional Council of the OFS Karukutty Region

A New Chapter of Franciscan Leadership and Fraternal Service.

 

July 2026, Karukutty :The Regional Council Election of the Order of Franciscan Secular (OFS), Karukutty Region, was solemnly held to elect a new Regional Council that will guide the fraternity for the forthcoming three-year term.

 

The election proceedings were conducted in an atmosphere of prayer, fraternity, and discernment under the gracious presence of Bro. Franco John, National Vice Minister, Rev. Fr. James Chooramana, National Spiritual Assistant, and Rev. Fr. Senet Kanjiraparambil, Regional Spiritual Assistant.

 

Following the canonical election process, the new Regional Council was constituted as follows:

  • Bro. Joseph M. P. – Regional Minister
  • Bro. Jose P. O. – Vice Minister
  • Sr. Salomy George – Secretary
  • Bro. Sajan C. A. – Formator
  • Bro. Babu K. P. – Treasurer
  • Bro. Thomas P. – Councillor
  • Bro. Johny M. V. – Councillor

After the announcement of the results, the newly elected Council members were prayerfully entrusted to their ministries. The friars invoked God’s blessings upon them, praying that they may faithfully fulfil their responsibilities with humility, wisdom, and a genuine Franciscan spirit in the service of the Regional Fraternity.

 

 

In his address, Rev. Fr. Senet Kanjiraparambil expressed heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Regional Council for their dedicated and selfless service over the past term. He also extended his warm congratulations to the newly elected Council, encouraging them to lead the fraternity with commitment, collaboration, and fidelity to the ideals of St. Francis of Assisi.

 

On behalf of the newly elected Council, Bro. Joseph M. P., Regional Minister, conveyed his sincere appreciation to the members of the Regional Fraternity for the confidence they had placed in the new leadership. He assured the gathering of the Council’s dedication to strengthening fraternity, promoting Franciscan formation, and serving the Region with zeal and responsibility.

 

The gathering concluded in a spirit of joy and fraternity with a fellowship gathering and refreshments, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the life and mission of the OFS Karukutty Region.
