SEMINAR ON ST. FRANCIS’ TRANSITUS AND HIS MISSIONARY SPIRITUAL HERITAGE

Assisi Snehalaya Reflects on the Missionary Dimension of Franciscan Spirituality

5 August 2026, Assisi Snehalaya – A half-day seminar titled “St. Francis and His Missionary Spiritual Heritage” was successfully conducted at Assisi Snehalaya on August 5, 2026. Organized by Fr. Alphonse Ofmconv and Fr. Anve Ofmconv, the session brought together formees and religious members to reflect on the missionary dimensions of Franciscan spirituality. The program commenced at 10:15 AM with a prayer song rendered by the novitiate brothers. Following the opening prayer, Fr. Justin delivered the welcome address, extending a warm reception to the gathering. Fr. Alphonse then formally introduced the resource person of the day, Fr. Anve. The audience comprised novitiate brothers, pre-novitiate brothers, and pre-postulants from the Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC).

At the core of the class was a deep dive into St. Francis’s spirit of missionary work. The session highlighted the inspiring account of the five Franciscan brother martyrs—who were biological brothers—and emphasized how St. Francis himself earnestly attempted to go on missions to spread the Gospel. The seminar concluded with formal words of gratitude. A representative from the novitiate brothers expressed thanks on behalf of the participants, followed by a vote of thanks from Fr. Ferdinand on behalf of the community.
